Work Out Lucky 15

Horse Racing – Multiple Bets – How Do They Work
Most race horse fans are acquainted with the simple win and place betting  options but find multiple bets confusing/. In this article I want to explain some of the more common multiple bets that are available in your local bookmakers and explain how they work.
First of all I should explain exactly what the term multiple betting means. Quite simply it is any bet that includes two or more horse in different races backed to win or be placed.  Some of these bets are straight forward such as a double, two horse backed to win or a treble which is three horse to win.  Other are a little more complicated but the most common that you are likely to come across are , the Patent, Yankee, Super Yankee and a Heinz. For the explanations we will assume they are just win bets but it is possible to have each way multiple bets in which case you will have twice as many bets.
The Patent (also known as a round Robin) . This involves 7 individual bets. You back each horse in a single bet to win. You bet each pair of horses to win which are 3 double bets and you have one bet on all three winning.  You will get some money back if any of your selections win.
Single Bets             Horse One
Horse Two
Horse 3
Doubles                 Horse One and Two
Horse Two and Three
Horse one and Three
Treble                   Horse One+ Horse Two+ Horse Three
Yankee.   In this bet you select four horses and it makes a total of eleven bets. That consists of 6 double bets, four trebles and a four timer. You need two of your selection to win to get a return and this  works out as follows:
Doubles     1 -2   1-3  1-4  2-3 2-4 3-4   Trebles: 1-2-3  2-3-4  1-3-4 1-2-4 $ timer 1-2-3-4
There is also a Lucky Fifteen bet which is a Yankee plus 4 single win bets making 15 bets in all and you get some money back if any one of your selections wins.
.Super Yankee.  (also known as a Canadian) This is simply an extension of the Yankee  with five selections.  This involve 26 individual bets made up as follows
10 doubles  - 10 trebles – 5 4 timers and 1 5 horse accumulator.
Again if any two of your horsed win you will get a return.
Heinz (named after the famous 57 varieties). It is a multiple bet that consists of 6 selections and
a total of 57  bets
This is made up of 15 doubles, twenty trebles, fifteen fourfold,6 fivefold an done 6 horse accumulator.
Having a multiple bet I a good way of trying to win large sums for a limited outlay but unfortunately these sort of bets are very much the bookies favourites because they are also the hardest types of bets to win with.

Lucky 15 Bet

Lucky 15 Explained

Lucky 15 bets sound complicated.....but are in fact really easy once you understand them! Lucky 15 entails 15 different bets made on a selection of 4 horses that cover a full selection of different results.
The Lucky 15 consists of:
  • 4 single bets
  • 6 double bets
  • 4 treble bets
  • 1 four horse accumulator
Let's look at this in more detail.
You start off by simply making a bet on four different horses to win on any racing day in four different races.
The next thing which happens sometimes causes confusion. These 4 horses are "permed" (or divided) into doubles, trebles and an accumulator:
  • A double bet is any two horses winning where the money won on the first horse is rolled into the second horse.
  • A treble bet is any three horses winning and the money won on the previous two horses is rolled onto the third horse.
  • An accumulator is on all four horses with the winnings rolled up on on to each horse.
Therefore if two of your horses win, then you will win two singles and one double.
If just one of your horses wins, then you will win one single.
Below I show an example of how a treble would work:
$10 treble:
Horse no1 wins at 3/1 = $40 on the next
Horse no2 wins at evens = $80 on the next
Horse no3 wins at 2/1= the bet finishes with $240 returns
With the double, treble and accumulator bets you have an 'all cover bet' where all potential winning results are covered.
Just one winning selection guarantees a return;but obviously the more winners you get the better!
Finally if you choose the right bookie then you will get the following bonuses paid:
1. Only get one winner- you will get Double the ODDS for that winner (some pay treble odds).
2. 10% Bonus on returns for four winners- Not all bookmakers do this but if you do manage to find one which does then take it.

Horse Racing Master Class - How to Profit From a Lucky 15 Bet

How The Lucky 15 Bet Works
A Lucky 15 consists of 15 bets involving 4 selections in different events. It is the same as a Yankee bet except you have a single win on each horse. The bet is made up of 4 singles, 6 doubles, 4 trebles, and 1 fourfold.
If one selection wins, bookmakers will often give a consolation to the returns like double the odds. Some of the smaller independent bookmakers will sometimes offer treble the odds. If all four selections win, then often bookmakers will give a bonus of 10% or more to total returns.
For each-way lucky 15 bets the consolation is normally only paid on the win part of the bet. Because of these bonuses, Lucky 15 bets are often thought of good value multiple bets
How To Pick Your Selections For A Lucky 15 Bet
When picking your selections for a Lucky 15 bet you are mainly looking for winners to double and treble up. Most horses that win races are from the first three in the betting forecast prices and 80% of horses win at odds of less than 5/1. One or two larger priced horses are ok if you are betting each way. Try to pick from the days races with less than 12 runners with a top jockey on board. If you are not sure about picking your own selections use your favorite newspaper tipster or join a professional horse racing tipping service. Also look out for trainers hitting form
