Paul Hanagan is poised to accept an eight-week riding contract in Japan in the new year, a move underlining his elite jockey status after securing his first Flat championship last month.
The 30-year-old rider, finalising plans for his stint in the Far East, said: 'It's a bit of a nightmare to get the visa sorted, but I will hopefully go towards the end of January.
'I was approached and it is 90 per cent likely it will happen. I will be going to Kyoto. It will be racing on Saturdays and Sundays. My family will be going with me
